               A press conference was organised at Hotel Brahmaputra
           Ashok, Guwahati, Assam, with Mr. Subrata Gupta, Joint Secretary
           (Export), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, as the Chief Guest
           who made a detailed presentation on Textiles India and also
           interacted at length with the media. He informed that as a

           Assam will showcase the entire range of products including silk,
           tribal fabrics and handicrafts in their dedicated Pavilion at the
           show. The other dignitaries from the sector also addressed the
           media. Ms. Jesmina Zeliang, Regional Convenor-North East,
           EPCH, informed that EPCH is showcasing Indian handicrafts
           through 200 exhibitors with 7 from Assam and 17
           entrepreneurs from the North Eastern States at Textiles India. An
           exhibition of handicrafts, textiles and other products was
           organised with 11 participants prior to the press conference.
