ABOUT EPCH
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH)
established under the EXIM Policy of Govt. of India in 1986-87 is a
non-profit organization. It is an
apex organization of Handicrafts Exporters for promotion of exports of
Handicrafts from country . The Council intends to build an image of Indian
Handicrafts and to project India's
image in overseas market as a reliable supplier of high quality handicrafts
gifts, houseware, home textiles, furnishing, floor covering, furniture,
home accessories, cane & bamboo, eco-friendly products, Christmas
decorations, candles , incense sticks , fashion jewellery , accessories
& bags.

OBJECTIVE OF MAGAZINE
The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is
proposing to empanel a publisher who can independently publish a world
class quarterly magazine on handicrafts of India for distribution in
International market The magazine
will be circulated to importers, departmental stores, discount stores,
volume buyers, importers, buying houses, Indian Missions abroad, Foreign
Missions in India and Import Promotion Organizations. The prime objective of magazine is to
build a brand image of India and to motivate overseas buyers to source
their requirement from India. The magazine should be considered as reliable
information for global trade. The
magazine will contain information about the craft and its suppliers. The essence of magazine is to create a
bridge between importers & exporters . The magazine should be of
international quality . The

The Council will buy
500 copies or multiple of such magazine for its own use and distribution in
international market , Buyers ,Departmental stores , Indian embassies
etc.

RESPONSIBILITY /
CAPABILITY OF PUBLISHERS :
·
The publisher must
have comprehensive background of publishing.
·
Must have 3 years previous
experience of bringing out publication for government / Pvt. and other
Autonomous organizations.
·
The publisher must
have own comprehensive design and editing set up.
·
A dummy of 16 pages
alongwith content sheet shall be provided by the publisher along with
technical offer.
·
Editing, designing
and publishing of magazine.
·
Coordinating with
EPCH for finalizing the thematic
content of each issue.
·
Organizing
photographs, designing and relevant
text for each issue .

SUPPORT FROM EPCH
·
EPCH may, from time
to time , offer advertorial support to the magazine.
·
EPCH will support
publisher in obtaining advertisement for magazine. But this is purely a voluntary effort.

Submission of Proposal :
Interested
publisher may kindly forward their proposal in two envelops marked as
follows :
Envelope
1 : Technical Specification
Envelope
2 : Financial Offer.

|
Processing of
Proposals:
- Envelope No. 1 i.e. “Technical Specification”
will be opened first. Those qualified in Technical Specification will
only be considered for Opening of Envelope No. 2 i.e. “Financial
Offer.”
|
|
Other Terms :
- The proposal will
be considered complete only if all the information as desired above is
submitted.
- Based on the
rates offered by agency, initial publication of magazine will be
allowed for two issues on trial basis. If found satisfactory, the
initial order will be converted into regular order.
- The Council reserves
the right to cancel the assignment at any time if the service/quality
of the agency are found un-satisfactory.
- The Council
reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals without
assigning any reason thereof.
- Council reserves
the right to visit the site of printing press to monitor the process,
quality of paper and printing.
- The selected
agency will be required to deposit a security equivalent to Cost of
one issue (refundable after three issues) through Bank guarantee.
- The publication
schedule of magazine is to be adhered by publisher. Non-adherence of
schedule of publication the Council will have right to forfeit the
security deposit, if prior approval for extension due to unforeseen
reasons not sought.
- The Council will
have the right to use or reuse the information/input/ content and
photographs etc. of magazine as and when considered necessary by the
council.
The last date for
submission of proposal in prescribed format is 24th April,
2009 in Export Promotion
